Choosing Headboards |

Wooden Headboards Wooden headboards have become extremely popular. Not only do they look incredible thanks to the use of pine, oak, and other wood materials but they are also long lasting, durable, and can be treated or painted to make them last longer and to change their looks. Wooden headboards do tend to be one of the more expensive options but they offer a classy look and timeless style that is not repeated in many other styles of headboard. Metal Headboards Metal headboards are also popular. They are less expensive than wooden ones and can be used to create either a classic or contemporary look. Metal headboards that have a wrought iron look to them can work well in a classic room while modern chromes and thick, shiny metal headboards look more contemporary. If you’re replacing an existing headboard then matching it to the design of your bedroom is important to give the best possible look. Upholstered Headboards Upholstered headboards are, generally speaking, the least expensive of the three options although more expensive upholstered headboards such as leather headboards can prove considerably more costly. An inexpensive headboard will usually consist of an inexpensive base covered by material of some sort. However, just because these prove to be inexpensive headboards does not mean that they don’t look great and it certainly doesn’t mean than an upholstered headboard can’t last for several years. Strength And Durability Design isn’t everything when choosing headboards. You also need to consider the quality to make sure that the headboard won’t break or snap when used. The headboard is typically bolted to the top of the bed and because the board protrudes some way above the bed it can be easy to break if the headboard and attachments are not good enough quality. |
