This type of lock can only be unlocked by its corresponding key. What makes this type convenient for families is that each family member has his or her own key. So, each one can come home any time and not have any problems opening the door. The other two types would involve the use of dials and combination. These types are more preferable to use especially when you find that keys can be hassle as they can be lost or misplaced. The combination of these types of locks are in a series of numbers, letters, or digits, which can range from 4 to up to 8 characters. The combination will be surely secure if you properly install the lock. Of the three types, the key type is the most affordable. This device is usually made of either durable plastic or of metal. It is made to stand different weather conditions. Some may even have rubber grommets to protect it from damage from moisture. Those with electronic locks can be hard to use and can be more prone to malfunctions.
