Indoor waterfalls are wonderful additions to the home and
office. They can create a sense of peace thanks to the sound
of the water and the beauty of many of the fountains
available. These waterfalls come in a variety of sizes and
shapes, as well as various materials from stone and metal to
glass and ceramic. You can have a small waterfall that you
keep on top of a table or a desk, or you can have a larger
waterfall that sits on the floor. Many of the models
available even have speed settings so that you will be able
to control the flow of the water.
No matter the type of indoor waterfalls you choose, it is
important that you maintain them. Proper maintenance is
important if you expect the fountain to last for many
years.
Tip # 1
Consider how often you are going to be using the fountain.
If you are not going to be using it for a long period of
time, such as if you are going on vacation, it is a good
idea to empty all of the water from it. If you don’t, the
water will stagnate and this can cause a terrible odor.
Tip # 2
Make sure that you change the water in your indoor
waterfalls on a regular basis. When you are changing the
water, it’s important that you always fill it to the proper
level. If you don’t have enough water in the waterfall, it
can damage the pump. Check the water level occasionally so
that you can add more if some of it has evaporated.
Tip # 3
When you are changing the water, look at the pump and clean
it. Simply wiping it down and making sure that nothing is
stuck inside of it should be enough.
Tip # 4
Even though freezing is something that people only think
about for their outdoor water fountains, you will want to
check the water in your indoor waterfalls as well. In some
areas of the nation, if the power is out and it is extremely
cold outside, you might come home to find that the water has
frozen in your waterfall! This can damage the pump greatly.
If you are not going to be in the house for an extended
period in the middle of winter, it might be a good idea to
keep the waterfall empty.
